Families of Color Seattle's mission is to build a strong community by supporting families of color through equitable parenting programs, resource-sharing, and fostering meaningful connections.
Families Of Color Seattle (FOCS) is a non-profit organization connecting parents to build a loving community of families of color. We are a Black-led organization, primarily serving BIPOC children, youth, and parents and caregivers. FOCS has connected more than 3,000 families into an intercultural and interethnic community through parents groups; family programs centering Black and Brown children, culture, and art; and providing racial equity workshops in schools and organizations serving children of color.
During the current COVID-19 pandemic, FOCS has shifted our delivery model to adhere to social distancing. We are offering free virtual parent groups so that parents, especially new parents, can continue to access our peer-supports and make meaningful connections. We are also continuing to offer free, online family programs with themes around Black History Month, Black Maternal Health Week, Women's History Month, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, and more!
