Friends of Fort Worden State Park

A nonprofit organization

We have more habitat restoration to do ...

And we need your help to do it!

Several years ago, the Friends of Fort Worden launched our Habitat Restoration Program to control invasive plants, like poison hemlock and English ivy, in Fort Worden State Park. The Friends partnered with the Jefferson County Noxious Weed Control Board and Washington State Parks to take on this large task.

And we’re pleased to report that our efforts so far have exceeded expectations!

We're now ready to embark on the next phase of habitat restoration, and we need to raise $15,000. Many areas in the park that need attention include steep, hard-to-tackle slopes, which involve hiring outside contractors to supplement our volunteer efforts.

A one-time or recurring monthly donation from you would help us fund the contractors we need!

As an aside, I’ve used recurring monthly donations to support nonprofit organizations of my choice. I value this giving method because I can stretch out my donations and not have to write a large check for one organization at a time. This “Evergreen” giving aids my generosity, and I urge you to consider it.

Thank you!
