EASE is a 100% volunteer-run 501(C)3 organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to City of Seattle employees following a catastrophe or emergency. Most EASE funds come from City of Seattle employees, and every dollar donated by an employee goes to an employee in need. Since its inception in 2006, EASE has helped hundreds of City of Seattle employees with hundreds of thousands of dollars in financial assistance. In 2023, EASE provided financial grants to 24 employees in need, totaling $38,900.
A few examples of how EASE has supported City employees:
- Financial assistance to build an ADA accessible ramp at a City employee's home.
- EASE assisted with 1 month's rent for a City employee who was unable to work due to a high-risk pregnancy.
- Assistance to a City employee's widow and special needs son without medical coverage.
