While pursuing our ambitious goal of building the pilot Resilient Village, ecoTHRIVE Housing may face challenges such as regulatory and permitting hurdles, construction delays and cost overruns, community opposition, and funding shortfalls. To address these challenges, we engage with local and regional leaders and professionals early in the process, develop detailed project plans and budgets, conduct community outreach and engagement activities, and implement robust fundraising strategies. We have received unanimous and resounding support from the Burien City Council through our acceptance in the Affordable Housing Demonstration Program. This was a vital milestone to achieving the crucial zoning variances and municipal support we require to get our project off the ground.

Our all-women, multiracial team, with diverse expertise in development, architecture, and community engagement, works closely with local stakeholders and builds on the experience and wisdom of other successful affordable housing projects to minimize risks and ensure a smooth implementation.
