Mission
The mission of the museum is to represent the Enumclaw Plateau's interest in local history and historical sites through preservation, documentation, education, and visual display of exhibits and local artifacts. The Society accepts historical donations, preserves memorabilia of the Plateau (and to a lesser extent, the Pacific Northwest). We also assist researchers for the benefit of genealogists, historians, the general public, schools and other organizations.
Description
Our museum, owned by the Enumclaw Plateau Historical Society, is located in a 1909 designated landmark historic building. We offer a large collection of photos, logging and mining history, farm tools and household items, which are on display at the museum and represent the area's rich history.
We feature a large collection of catalogued and indexed births, marriages, and death notices, as well as more than 100 years of newspaper articles which visitors are welcome to view.
The two-story museum is ADA compliant making it accessible to all people, including those with a health condition or impairment.
Recognition
EPHS has a website and is on Facebook. We publish a quarterly newsletter and hold quarterly talks of historical interest. We are an all-volunteer run society and rely on memberships, donations, and our yearly Bazaar and Bake Sale to keep our doors open, and free to the public. Museum brochures are available at the museum and on request.
