Climbers of Color is a Washington state nonprofit that exists to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the climbing and mountaineering community by developing leaders of color.

“It’s about bringing people together where they can learn from someone that looks like them."
- Keith Murakata, Co-Director of Rock at Climbers of Color

Your support helps our ability to cultivate community and develop leaders through supportive mentorship, quality technical training, community events, accessible resources, and guided outings. From mountaineering courses to BIPOC climb night at gyms, Climbers of Color allows individuals to show up and exercise their expression of intersectionality.

“When you enter a new space you can have a fear of being judged for it, Climbers of Color takes that small identity and helps it grow,” - Crystal Hudelson, Co-Director of Rock at Climbers of Color.

Climbers of Color is expanding in its vision to help create a future in which Black, Indigenous, and People of Color are invaluable community builders and leaders in the climbing and mountaineering industry. We have goals to continue to develop our organizational operations, expand our outdoor programming, and invest in our volunteers--those who make this organization what it is. As we continue to grow, we hope for you to be part of the journey.
