Clear Creek Task Force

A nonprofit organization

Mission

Our Mission is to create and maintain a community-wide network to mobilize support, educate and focus actions to preserve, protect and restore the Clear Creek ecosystem.

Description

The 8 miles of Clear Creek Trail meanders through wetlands, remnant forest and meadows in highly urbanized Silverdale. It is proved to be a natural third place for students and seniors, family and friends, pets and bicycles. The trail and the creek are maintained by volunteers from the community - Kiwanis and Lions organizations, military and local businesses, and neighbors and individual supporters.
The Task Force oversees the maintenance by the community and the educational programs. Educating the community, young and old, about water quality, native plant species, and macroinvertibrates happens qualterly during the Water Quality Monitoring program.  Salmon in the Classroom, Discovery Play Days and annual Earth Day activities teach about healthy stream and riparian habitat for salmon, for orcas, and for the Kitsap Peninsula.

Recognition

The Clear Creek Task Force is very grateful for your generous support of Clear Creek, a salmon bearing stream and the very urban yet scenic trail that protects it. The trail is built and maintained on both public and private land by a bunch of dedicated volunteers.

Our mission includes environmental education. We have many programs to accomplish this for kids from 3 to 93 years old. All programs teach conservation, restoration and maintenance of healthy salmon habitat.

Thank you!
