More people in Thurston and Mason Counties are reaching out in crisis than ever before.

Together, we can make sure no one in our community faces crisis alone.

Since 1972, the Crisis Clinic of Thurston and Mason Counties has been committed to providing free, anonymous crisis support in the spirit of community supporting community, so that nobody has to face crisis alone.

What began as a 24/7 telephone response line at Evergreen State College has grown into something much more — a 24/7 crisis and informational referral line, a dedicated Youth and Teen Line, community suicide prevention education, and beginning in Spring 2026, free peer crisis support training for community members across both counties. Last year, we answered 11,542 calls from people in our community who were struggling and needed someone to listen.

Right now, more people are reaching out than ever before.

Crisis impacts everyone at some point — a mental health spiral, a sudden loss, a moment when everything becomes unmanageable at once.

The unprecedented cuts to social services in 2025 disrupted programs and resources people had relied on, leaving more people with fewer places to turn, and more people struggling with a level of fear and uncertainty that, without support, can quickly spiral into emotional crisis. At the same time, youth mental health needs are surging — in Thurston County, 1 in 6 students has seriously contemplated suicide, and calls to our Youth and Teen Line increased by 270% last year. As resources and program offerings changed rapidly, compassionate crisis support and hyper-local knowledge of support was actually available and accessible in our community became more critical than ever.

The Crisis Clinic serves as the front door to a broader network of care for Thurston and Mason Counties. Our adult and youth volunteer Crisis Phone Line Advocates are available 24 hours a day, providing compassionate emotional support while connecting individuals and families with real-time local resources to help them find the support they need and the encouragement to take the next step forward.

Together, we make sure help is always within reach.

Your financial gift makes an immediate impact and helps us provide free, anonymous crisis support to every member of our community who reaches out in times of crisis. A community that looks after its own is something we create together.

Together we can build a stronger, more resilient community where everyone, no matter what they're facing, has somewhere to turn and someone to listen.
