Every Student Deserves a Chance

Every year, new students enroll in programs to build careers and to secure their futures. At Career and Education Access (CEA), we believe every student should have a chance at a rewarding career and financial stability. Helping students find their passion and helping them to overcome their obstacles contributes to individual success and thriving communities. Many students start out on unequal footing, financially, socially, academically. We catch them where they are and give them a chance to succeed. 

Many students begin with just enough resources to make it through to a degree or certification only to encounter an unanticipated challenge. A car breaks down, childcare arrangements fail, a supportive parent becomes ill. The unpredictable hurdles are many and what might be a minor inconvenience for some of us a catastrophe for the plans of someone on a very limited budget.

CEA's unique approach to supporting students is to be there when the challenge happens and to quickly provide the funds, often very modest by most standards, that prevent the difficulty from becoming an individual catastrophe and the potential derailment of a deserving student's progress to a better life. We respond to requests within twenty-four to forty-eight hours, enabling students to continue their education without interruption.

We have provided funding for a wide range of urgent needs, including dental instruments, liability insurance, dental association membership, emergency tuition support, lab coats in increasing sizes for a pregnant student, resume prep and job search, wheel alignment, forklift training and more... Each instance represents a individual crisis for a student straining to stay on track. 

We strongly believe that providing the right intervention at the critical moment helps ensure that a student completes their course of training and is able to go on to a productive sustainable future.
