The Power of the Club

We all know how important it is to have the support of a safe and welcoming community. Boys & Girls Clubs provides that community, empowering young people through inclusive, diverse, and culturally-relevant programming for all of our members.

A teen member of our Bainbridge Island Club summed it up best:  "You can tell that the people [at the Club] really care about you.”

Like all young people, Club members continue to grapple with the impacts of the global pandemic and years of increased isolation, tension, racism, and fear. About half of our Club youth identify as youth of color and/or LGBTQ+. This is significant because research shows that these youth populations are at greater risk for anxiety, depression, and substance use.

Led by mental health experts, our Clubs are evolving to provide mental wellness programming and evidence-based interventions. This initiative began as a pilot program in 2022, and we are now expanding to all of our Clubs.

We also continue to provide critical scholarships, so that financial insecurity is never a barrier to care for Club families.

Your donation will support innovative and diverse programs that create safe and inclusive spaces for all.

Thank you for your partnership.

Our mission: to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
