Our Mission

Behind the Badge Foundation is a trusted resource providing comprehensive support to Washington State’s law enforcement agencies, families, and communities when an officer has died or suffered a serious injury in the line of duty. Because we have walked in their shoes, we bring compassion, credibility, and understanding to those rocked by tragedy. Our lived experience allows us to respond with insight, accurate information, and practical support during times of greatest need.

Our Impact

At the heart of Behind the Badge Foundation’s work is our commitment to prepare, respond, and provide aftercare for Washington State law enforcement officers, their families, and their agencies following a line‑of‑duty death or other traumatic event. Donor support makes it possible for us to be there—immediately and long after the headlines fade—ensuring no family or agency walks this journey alone.

Our Legacy

Behind the Badge Foundation is honored to serve as the caretaker of the Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial, preserving it as a sacred place of remembrance, reflection, and respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
