Mission

Aurora Commons cultivates belonging and community to foster health and healing among our neighbors experiencing poverty and homelessness.

Aurora Commons is driven by the dedication and generosity of our community. Together, we curate a space where hope overrides fear, community interrupts isolation, and dignity is offered to all. From this safe place and with the embrace of kindness & acceptance, our neighbors experiencing homelessness and poverty can navigate the city's complex network of resources to access next steps. Our programs and partnerships are designed in direct response to our neighbors’ stated needs. We remove barriers to increase the safety, stability and health of our neighbors.

Practically, what this looks like:

Neighborhood Living Room -  a space for our neighbors experiencing homelessness and poverty to feel welcomed and invited to participate in our community. Additionally, we offer access to basic needs including food, clothing & hygiene supplies, and access to a kitchen, bathrooms and laundry. Community advocates are always available to support our neighbors one-on-one as they navigate the social service network in Seattle.

S.H.E. Clinic - a partnership with Harborview Medical Center offering kind, nonjudgmental healthcare and wraparound services at the Commons to our female-identifying neighbors.

Aurora Clinic - a partnership with Harborview Medical Center offering kind, nonjudgmental healthcare and wraparound services at the Commons to our male-identifying & gender nonconforming neighbors.

Gender-based violence advocacy & programming for neighbors experiencing commercial sexual exploitation.
