Assembly Required is dedicated to using art as a catalyst for community connection, empowerment, and creative exploration. Our mission is to make hands-on art experiences — especially in glass art — accessible to low-income, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ participants who have historically faced barriers to arts education. We believe that creative expression is a powerful tool for personal growth, healing, and community building.
Through free public events, workshops, and longer-term learning opportunities, we engage youth, families, and communities in transformative arts experiences. With the support of generous donors, grants, and partnerships with organizations like Pratt Fine Arts Center, Schack Art Center, and the Low Income Housing Institute, we ensure that teaching artists are fairly compensated and that participants can access high-quality materials and instruction at no cost.
Your donation helps us continue this work — supporting artist stipends, providing supplies, and keeping our programs free and open to the community. Together, we can build inclusive spaces where creativity thrives and everyone has the chance to explore their artistic voice. Thank you for being part of our mission!
