Actualize AiR

Actualize Artist in Residency (AiR) is a women-founded and artist-led arts organization located in Pioneer Square. Our mission is to foster and accelerate the careers of emerging artists by offering free and low-cost space, creative opportunities, and a collaborative environment.  

Originally founded in 2024 by Kate Bailey, Edie Adams and Shari Behnke, Actualize AiR found its first home inside of the historic Coliseum Theater. In October of 2025 we moved into the Prefontaine building in Pioneer Square. Here, Actualize now hosts thirty artist studios, a 2500 square foot exhibition space, one curatorial residency, and multiple coworking spaces. 

We are proud to foster the creative capacities of artists in and out of our community, as we also offer a variety of programming including public-facing exhibitions, free workshops, curatorial and institutional partnerships, and more. In all we do, it is at the core of our mission to establish a flourishing artist alliance in Seattle's urban core.
