The University District Food Bank provides healthy food and critical support to thousands of neighbors across Northeast Seattle each week. In 2025 alone, we distributed 3.9 million pounds of food and responded to more than 368,000 requests for groceries from households across our community.
Demand for food bank services has increased 80% in the past two years, while food donations have declined and food purchasing costs have tripled over the last four years. Community support is essential to keeping shelves stocked and ensuring that every household receives at least three days of healthy food.
Each week, 2,600 families shop at our Roosevelt Way pantry. We also deliver groceries to 550 homebound households, provide weekend meals to 820 students at 16 schools through our Packs for Kids program, and operate satellite pantries at North Seattle College and Magnuson Park. Our Apple a Day Café serves hot meals each week, and our Community Connector team helps neighbors access housing, healthcare, and other vital resources.
