Our Mission

Unloop empowers formerly incarcerated adults to navigate a digital world, building the access, skills, and confidence that open doors to employment, education, and long-term economic stability.

The Work

People come home from incarceration to a world that has moved almost entirely online. Jobs, housing, benefits, education, and communication with support systems all require digital fluency. Most leave without a computer, reliable internet, or familiarity with the tools that define modern life. The gap between what people leave incarceration with and what the digital economy demands has never been wider, and as AI becomes standard across every industry, that bar is rising.

A participant in our current cohort served 32 years before release. He was incarcerated before smartphones, before widespread internet, before digital tools became the infrastructure of daily life. His first Zoom call was our orientation. He is not an outlier.

Unloop is where reentry meets digital equity. We run live, virtual cohorts that build real skills in real community, taught by instructors with both professional technology expertise and lived experience of incarceration. Participants leave able to navigate the systems that determine whether reentry holds: applying for jobs, accessing benefits, enrolling in education, building a digital identity, using AI tools that are quickly becoming non-negotiable in the workforce.
