4,463 children in Washington foster care. Most will lose the one thing they need most: someone who stays.
Every day, young people enter and move through a system defined by disruption – placement changes, broken relationships, and uncertainty about who will show up tomorrow. Without a consistent adult, the risks are clear: higher rates of homelessness, unemployment, and poor health as they transition into adulthood.
The system is complex. The solution is not.
Consistency changes everything.
Olympic Angels mobilizes the local community to show up – reliably, intentionally, and long-term – for youth and families navigating foster care.
Through Love Box®, children and caregivers are matched with a dedicated volunteer who shows up month after month with essentials, encouragement, and care. This consistent presence reduces caregiver stress and helps youth rebuild trust and stability.
Through Dare to Dream®, older youth are paired with a mentor who walks alongside them as they prepare for adulthood – building life skills, setting goals, and creating a plan for what comes next.
These relationships don’t just feel good – they change outcomes:
Caregivers experience less stress and more stability
Youth feel supported, connected, and less alone
Young people gain confidence and critical life skills
Relationships strengthen across every part of a child’s life
But what matters most isn’t just what we measure – it’s what these young people finally experience:
Someone who remembers their birthday.
Someone who helps them apply for their first job.
Someone who shows up – every single month – no matter what.
Right now, there are youth in our community still waiting for that person.
Olympic Angels exists to close that gap – to ensure no young person in foster care has to navigate life alone.
Show up with us. Become the reason a young person doesn’t fall through the cracks.
