Olympic Mountain Pet Pals is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of pets and people in Jefferson County, WA.  Our programs benefit the lives of schoolkids, senior citizens, and lower income pet owners by connecting them to resources supporting the health of pets and offering positive interactions with therapy dogs.  Founded in 2001, our original mission was to help low-income families without the resources to pay for spay and neuter services for their beloved pets afford such services and, consequently, reduce the burden of unwanted and homeless animals on the local community. This remains a goal although the methodology has changed over time to funding spay/neuter clinics run by our partners.  Our expanding therapy dog programs include READ to ROVER, helping children in schools and libraries to learn to read,  and Pets to People, visiting seniors in assisted living facilities.

Our Spring fundraising goal is to raise funds to “gear up” to be ready for the 2025-26 READ to ROVER school year starting in the Fall.  Our data show that our “back-to-school” expenses are approximately $3,500 that, among other things, provides each of our 2nd grade readers with a red tee-shirt, building a sense of community for students who can identify as readers.  Donations beyond our READ to ROVER needs will be used to support spay/neuter clinics for low-income county residents.  A group of dedicated OMPP supporters has pledged to match donations.
