Catalyst Kitchens

Catalyst Kitchens is a national network of over 100 nonprofit organizations using food as a powerful tool for social change. Together, we equip, connect, and strengthen teaching kitchens across the country to create pathways to employment for people facing barriers—while also increasing access to nutritious food in their communities.

Our members operate workforce development programs that provide hands-on culinary training, job placement, and ongoing support for individuals who have experienced challenges such as incarceration, housing instability, or long-term unemployment. At the same time, they run thriving social enterprises—cafés, catering companies, and community meal programs—that generate revenue, serve millions of meals, and create real-world training environments.

Since our founding, Catalyst Kitchens has helped support more than 36,000 individuals in training, leading to over 20,000 job placements and more than 130 million meals served nationwide.
