$400 goal

This year Washington State's Give Big is May 3rd & 4th.

These 2 days are dedicated to raising funds online for local nonprofits across the state.

Olympic Neighbors has set a goal to raise $4,000 this year.

Some quick stats are:

  1. 100% of residents are:
  • Employed at jobs in the community,
  • Engaged in routine weekly volunteer work, or
  • Enrolled in courses

2. Residents volunteered for 300+ hours in 2022. They gave over $7,500 worth of their time to help others in our local community.

3. On average, each resident participates in 15 activities each month that allow them to interact with the larger community prior to COVID.

4. What We Know:

  • It cost significantly less to support people in their community than in a state institution. ($1,000 a day less)
  • Quality of life improves when people are supported and engaged in their community.
  • Everyone deserves to live, work and flourish in their community especially one of our most vulnerable populations.
  • There are 300+ people with a developmental disability living in Jefferson County.
  • State funding covers approximately 65% of the cost it takes to operate an adult family home.
  • There is need for more adult family homes in the majority of counties throughout the state.
  • People will disabilities are being forced to live in emergency rooms and institutions still due to lack of community options.
  • Washington State is ranked 39th in the Nation for funding for services for people with IDD
