At the South Whidbey Children’s Center, we nurture and educate the whole child, creating deep roots for a lifetime of growth and learning. Nestled in the heart of Langley, Washington, on beautiful Whidbey Island, we provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can thrive during their most formative years.
As a nationally accredited nonprofit early childhood education center, we believe that every child deserves access to high quality education, regardless of their circumstances. Since our founding in 1981, we have grown from a small cooperative into a cornerstone of the South Whidbey community, committed to providing accessible early learning opportunities. Over 40 percent of the families we serve receive financial aid, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to a strong educational foundation.
Guided by the research backed HighScope curriculum, we foster active learning, exploration, and problem solving, helping children develop critical thinking and social emotional skills that last a lifetime. We believe that each child is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, and interests. By partnering with families, we create an enriching experience that builds self confidence, curiosity, and compassion. Parents and guardians are a child's first and most important teachers, and we work collaboratively to build a strong, supportive community around every child.
Our highly skilled and passionate educators ensure that every child feels valued and supported, while our serene rural setting provides the space and freedom for creativity and exploration. At South Whidbey Children’s Center, we are more than just a childcare provider. We are a vibrant community where children, families, and educators come together to build a brighter future.
Your support helps us continue our mission of accessible, high quality early learning, maintain a safe and inspiring environment, and invest in exceptional educators who shape the next generation. Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
