Kulshan Carbon Trust (KCT) is a nonprofit advancing community-driven climate solutions across Northwest Washington. We bring people together to restore ecosystems, strengthen local resilience, and draw down carbon through practical, science-based approaches.
Our work focuses on natural climate solutions—including biochar, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, and ecological forestry—that improve soil health, reduce wildfire risk, and support working lands. By turning woody debris and organic waste into stable carbon stored in soils, we transform a growing climate liability into long-term environmental and community benefit.
What makes KCT unique is how we work. We collaborate with farmers, conservation districts, researchers, Tribes, and local partners to design and test solutions that are grounded in the realities of our region. We pilot projects, measure outcomes, and share what works—creating models that can scale across the Pacific Northwest.
We also help build the systems needed to sustain this work over time. That includes developing practical ways for land stewards to be recognized and supported for the climate and ecological benefits they generate—strengthening the connection between healthy landscapes and thriving communities.
At a time when climate impacts are intensifying—from wildfire and smoke to flooding and drought—KCT is working to turn risk into resilience. Your support helps expand on-the-ground projects, deepen community partnerships, and accelerate solutions that restore the land while strengthening our region’s future.
For the land. For the climate. For our community.
